Cal League Condensed: 4/22 Review

I was preparing a nice entry with a bunch of tables that showed how offense was down in the league so far this season, but Blogger is screwing me and not allowing me to post my tables because of bad HTML which is kind of odd since it shows up while I'm writing the entry just fine. I'll try fixing it tomorrow because I'd really like to get that one up.

Visalia 5, Inland Empire 2

Notes: Visalia scored the final five runs of the game... Nathan Eovaldi made his first start of the season and lasted five innings... Visalia got five runs on four hits... Kyle Russell added three more hits, including two doubles... Cesar Suarez also hit two doubles... Josh Ford's bases clearing double was the deciding hit... Alfredo Marte had two outfield assists...

High Desert Mavericks v. Lake Elsinore Storm
Notes: Game was postponed... Doubleheader will be played on Sunday starting at 2:05...

Notes: Federico Hernandez, Barry Butera and Tyson Auer had three hit games... Auer scored three runs... Auer also stole four bases... Three runners were picked off... Brad Dydalewicz went four innings in his third consecutive start... Manny Flores has allowed at least seven hits in every start this season... Attendance was 1,119...

Notes: First shutout of the Cal League season... Shane Keough had three of Stockton's four hits... Anvioris Ramirez has now allowed 15 runs in 15 IP this season and has only three strikeouts... Ron Scahill scattered three hits over six innings to earn his first win... Stephen Dodson has not allowed a run in five appearances this season... Attendance was 2,962...

Bakersfield 2, San Jose 1

Notes: Teams only combined for ten hits... No player for Bakersfield had multiple hits... Eric Surkamp struck out nine in 7 IP, only allowing three hits and one run... Michael Main was nearly as good, pitching six innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out six... Jacob Kaase knocked in the winning run in the 8th inning with a single... San Jose didn't walk any batters... Attendance was 637...
